It usually refers to a gel base coat for nails that’s thicker and more elastic than a regular gel base. It’s designed to:

•  Provide flexibility – it bends with the natural nail instead of cracking.
• Even out nail surface – can be used to smooth ridges or imperfections.
• Add strength – helps thin, weak, or peeling nails last longer under gel polish.
• Improve adhesion – prevents chipping or lifting of the gel color.

It’s applied like a normal gel base coat but often requires a slightly thicker layer and curing under a UV/LED lamp 60sec
